E is for Endocrinologist

Endocrinologists can help you manage your diabetes by prescribing insulin and/or medications, offering diet plans and helping you to keep a close watch on your blood glucose levels.
Besides diabetes, Endocrinologists also
diagnose and treat such issues as:
  • Cushing's disease
  • Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH)
  • Graves disease
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Osteoporosis
  • Paget's disease and Rickets
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

  1. Interesting post. Good day, Shortybear.

  2. Thanks for the delightful post and helpful information :) Wishing you a joyous day!

    Love and hugs!

  3. Endocrinologists are so important for helping you maintain your optimum blood sugar and other health factors. The important thing is always to listen with an open mind... and find one that encourages you rather than discourages you from trying harder! :-)

  4. Finding a doctor that is also open-minded is a great thing. People are unique and what works for this diabetic will not necessarily work for that diabetic. Finding one that will let you have a say in your health care is wonderful. Not everyone is so lucky, though.

Have a great day, Denise. Thank you for your interesting posts. :)

  5. I actually saw an endocrinologist years ago. Didn't help me very much, but it was an interesting experience nonetheless.

  6. A good endocrinologist is worth his/her weight in gold. An awful one will leave you feeling worse than you did before. Ask how i know that.
