Saturday 9

Saturday 9: That's What Friends Are For (1985)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This week's song is performed by an all-star quartet: Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder. You have your choice: which of these four, would you most like to see in concert? Stevie Wonder

2) Dionne Warwick was Whitney Houston's cousin. Name a Whitney Houston song. Greatest love of all

3) Gladys Knight owns a chain of chicken, and waffle restaurants around Atlanta. When you have waffles, what do you top them with? (Powdered sugar? Butter? Syrup? Fruit?) Fruit

4) Elton John has turned his bad eyesight into a hobby, claiming that over the years he has purchased well over, 200,000 pairs of glasses. Do you wear glasses? If so, how many prescription pairs do you own? I use to wear glasses, but my vision is so bad now, cannot wear them.

5) Stevie Wonder has a scar on his nose from a 1973 car crash. Have you ever been in a car accident? No

6) Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager, were married when they wrote this. Do you know a husband and wife, who work together? No
  7) This song celebrates friendship through good times, and bad. Tell us about a happy time you recently shared, with someone close to you. Laughing over everything, and nothing with a friend.

8) Now share a time when you were there for a friend, through a tough time. My best friend died in 1993, from heart disease. Heart breaking time.

9) Random question: When is the last time, you were out of breath? Yesterday, walking down the extra long hospital hallways.

  1. I enjoyed these questions, Denise, full of information.
I was sorry to hear that the year 1993 was a sad year for you in the loss of your dear friend. :(
Nice to visit with you. :)

    Have a blessed day~~

  2. I remember all those 'That's What Friends Are For' songs. : )

  3. Your blog is so beautifully decorated. I'm sorry to hear that your eyes have gotten so bad. You are obviously someone who looks for beauty and shares it. Big hugs, m'friend. Hang in there!

  4. I love questionnaires like this. Now I know more about you!

I remember that song. Takes me back a few years. :)

I had no idea Elton John needed those spectacular glasses. I thought they were stage props!

  5. Loved your answers, Denise...smiles

  6. Interesting questions and your answers. Some of these I did not know! Love to you; have a wonderful weekend!

  7. The questionnaire and responses was fascinating.
    Your blog is sooo pretty.

  8. It's difficult to live with bad eyesight. Sweetie is blessed that his is okay now, but he has to see a retinal specialist every year, and he is blind in his right eye.

  9. So sorry about the loss of a great friend,

( the ONLY one I'd see in concert is Elton John! LOL!)

  10. I remember this song. So sorry to hear about your friend. Apparently, chicken and waffles are a thing. Kiddos in the area periodically ask me if I've been and are incredulous when I say I haven't. Strange what becomes a thing.

  11. I keep forgetting that I can't leave comments on my browser. Something about i'll try on a different one. I liked your answers. I have bad night vision so I have stopped driving then.

  12. I also have diabetes and just walking up a flight of stairs I am out a breath.
