Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice day. My husband was off today, so he was able to take me to my appointment, instead of my dad. Because my heart has been having some episodes of fluttering, and slowing down, and some chest pain, and I feel weak, and tired, I have to do another holter monitor test next weekend. Why do people wear Holter monitors? I have arrhythmia.Regular electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs) let your doctor look at your heart’s activity at one point in time during your ECG test. But abnormal heart rhythms and cardiac symptoms may come and go. That’s why your doctor may want to evaluate your heartbeat over time while you go about your normal activities. You may be asked to wear a Holter monitor if you have fast, slow or irregular heartbeats called arrhythmias.
Wearing the monitor may tell your doctor:
- If your medicines are working.
- Why you have symptoms such as dizziness, faintness or the feeling that your heart is racing or skipping a beat.
- If your heart is getting enough oxygen to meet its needs.
I'm sorry to hear about your feet and legs. I hope the monitoring helps the doc figure out how to help your heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your appointment didn't have better news.
ReplyDeleteI could go for an Icee right now. They're the best!
What great timing for you to get the gift in the mail. Enjoy your "goodies" and your weekend.
I hope the doctor can figure out what's going on with your heart and that your neuropathy improves. At least you got a package, those always brighten the day for me :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your gift arrived on a day when you really needed something special. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that the appointment didn't go well. I hope that you're going to be ok and that your heart test turns out fine.
You're in our prayers. Have a blessed weekend!
((Hugs)) Keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSurprises are always fun! Glad your hubby got to go with you to your appointment. Hopefully the monitor will give your doctor some answers and he can make things better for you.
ReplyDeleteI had to wear one of those monitors. It wasn't good because I am allergic to adhesive and had to take it off early because of the pain. (My skin came off with the patches!) But they do tell the doctor an awful lot of information. Hope everything turns out OK for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry about your appointment! But I am glad you had a lovely surprise waiting for you when you got home.
ReplyDeleteMy father used to jokingly say "don't go to the doctor, they will find something wrong! This is sometimes true, but better to find out if there are possible issues. I am glad they gave you the heart monitor to wear, because they do such a good job of detecting problems that don't always show up at the doctor's office. Praying for good answers and for you to stay strong, one day at a time! XOXO
